Goodbye Mushu

“huhu namatay c mushu...nligsan daw..waaaaa :(“
My eyes almost popped out when I read this shout out from my sister’s YM.

Mushu was a cross breed of Shit Zhu (Fruity) and Lhasa Apso (Bebe).
He was born on Decebmer 7, 2006.
We named him after the dragon in the movie “Mulan”.
He became my little furry baby after I got married.
Sometimes we call him “Yakmu” because he was an undershot.
He was a peaceful dog because he hardly ever barked.
He was also very playful and even had a favorite toy bear.
I remember how happy and excited he gets when we play “go fetch the bear”. (The thought of it made my tears unstoppable for nearly 10 minutes.)
We taught him some tricks but he forgot when we stopped checking his mastery.
We brought him along with us wherever we went-- from Mactan Island to as far as Bantayan Island.
Sad thing though, when Zyle came out, we left him to my Mom’s care because we couldn’t risk our son’s health.
Then, sometime last year, my sibling’s friend borrowed Mushu for breeding with their Pekingese named Daphne.
It took some time for Daphne to get pregnant, and had a miscarriage when she did.
Early this year, we asked her friend to return him to our care.
But since Daphne’s pregnancy was still unsuccessful, he pleaded for an extension.
The next thing we heard is that Mushu died because a car ran over him when he escaped from their house.
I’m really disappointed with the bad news, but I can’t do anything with it anymore.
I don’t know where his body was buried.
If he had died in our house, we would have buried him in our backyard together with our deceased dogs.
One thing for sure, though, is that Mushu is now in dog’s heaven and he will always be in our hearts.
